Eastern Shoshone Youth

Project Coordinator:
Caroline Mills

Project Overview:
Eastern Shoshone Youth (Fort Washakie, WY, USA) seeks to provide Shoshone youth with programming and education opportunities that prevent drug and alcohol abuse, a major social issue among youth in the state of Wyoming. Furthermore, the youth are able to provide service to other members of their Native American community, which improves relations between older adults and youth. Project Coordinator Caroline Mills says "The unique thing about our project is that we don't have to deal with tribal politics…if it is good for the youth or community, we follow through with a good idea and make it happen."
