Volunteer Opportunities
At International Partners in Mission there are many ways to volunteer your time to support our work, ranging from an international field placement position, to event specific assistance, to long term support. Volunteers are sought from anywhere in the world, though opportunities vary by location.
For an international field placement, IPM would work with you to identify your strengths and specific interests and then find the ways they best support our projects. We can work with you regarding which project and country you would like to work with and can also work with you to obtain school or work credit for your time spent with a project.
Event specific volunteering is based out of the support we need to make our yearly events such as Namasté, the Annual Luncheon, and Peter Mayer concerts. Volunteers are needed for a variety of support roles such as greeting guests, handcraft sales, set-up for the event, as well as many other roles.
As needed volunteers help IPM staff with large mailings (such as the holiday cards or fundraising appeals), processing large incoming handcraft orders, as well as other high volume situations at the Cleveland office.
Fundraising opportunities include hosting your own IPM handcrafts sale at your house, church or business, organizing a fundraiser (such as a giving circle), or even collecting donations of supplies for our various project sites. Please contact us to see what our current needs are and how we can support you in any fundraising drives or handcraft sales.
Hosting assistance for international visitors is needed on a regular basis. International board members, project partners and IPM regional coordinators from all over the world visit the U.S. throughout the year. Support is often needed for transportation and accommodations, primarily in Cleveland and St. Louis. IPM can also facilitate speaking opportunities featuring IPM international visitors for schools, congregations and other groups.
Long term opportunities at IPM can be discussed by contacting the international headquarters. We are thrilled to have people donate their skills and time to support our work, and would be happy to meet with you to find out how we can make the most of our work together. We will also work with you to provide documentation of your service for work or school credit.
